Tami Wood

–

Baker City, Oregon

Tamra (“Tami”) Kinzel-Wood of Baker City, OR, passed away peacefully at home on January 9, 2026, at age 59, leaving a void that cannot be filled.

Tami is survived by her loving husband of 26 years, Archie Neil Wood (“Neil”); her son, Joshua Kinzel; her grandchildren Joshua, Trixie, and Jessie Kinzel and Damian Amburg; her sister Michelle Kinzel Donelson (Rick) and nieces Crystal Rivera and Marrissa Lorett; and Neil’s siblings Anita, Allen, and Lona Wood. Born in Kokomo, IN, she was preceded in death by her parents, Rebecca Yates Kinzel and Charles Kinzel, and her sister, Stephanie Kinzel.

Tami was a well-educated woman who loved gardening, history, art, philosophy, science, and math. She was active in the living history group, Society for Creative Anachronism (SCA.org), as Tamra Enchantadorea, and she lived to create and learn, making jewelry, creating costumes, knitting, drawing, painting, photographing nature, studying plants, planning and working in her garden, and researching and preparing to teach a class on Galileo. And no one could shop for bargains like Tami – she could stretch a dollar further than anyone. She had a quiet but ready laugh and was a loving, supportive, and playful partner for Neil, providing love and support in so many ways.

She will be missed by all who knew her.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Local Food Bank through Coles Tribute Center at 1950 Place Street, Baker City, OR 97814.
